The idea of this project was to make the picture look like it's straight from the camera. Hence the name "Straight photography". I went down to the Machine Shop and took close up pictures of the machinery. While doing this project I learned to use the rule of thirds, and filling the frame.
Biography of Paul Strand.
Paul Strand was born October 16, 1890 and died March 31, 1976. He was a famous american photographer whose work helped photography become an established art form in the 20th century. Strand was known as being a modernist and did a lot of straight photography. This meant Strand made it so his work looked like it came straight from the camera, rather than looking like a portrait. Strand had a very successful career, working for over sixty years, all over the world, working with many different genres.
