The idea of this project was to make the picture look like it's straight from the camera. Hence the name "Straight photography".  I went down to the Machine Shop and took close up pictures of the machinery. While  doing this project I learned to use the rule of thirds, and filling the frame.

Biography of Paul Strand.

Paul Strand was born October 16, 1890 and died March 31, 1976. He was a famous american photographer whose work helped photography become an established art form in the 20th century. Strand was known as being a modernist and did a lot of straight photography. This meant Strand made it so his work looked like it came straight from the camera, rather than looking like a portrait. Strand had a very successful career, working for over sixty years, all over the world, working with many different genres.

Tell a Story project

Tell a Story

A block.

When children get older they play with their toys less and less.
They get put away into closets or up on shelves.
The toys try to keep busy, but it's no use.

Eventually everyone throws their toys away.

For this project my class had to take 3 or 4 pictures of an object, the pictures were supposed to tell a story. My project was about a toy that gets played with less and less until it gets thrown away. In this project I learned the basics of how to use my camera, and how to photoshop my work.
